What you need:

  • Wreath

Typically I choose a traditional grapevine wreath (Bought at a local Michael’s for $10). As a rather obvious choice, a grapevine wreath will help add texture  and character to your project and act as a good foundation.

  • Corks

Although the world may be running out of cork (so they say), there seems to be an endless supply of it amongst us wine lovers…. In my case, I have collected a fair share of corks for DIY projects like this. BUT if you are not as avid as a wine consumer, or as I would say “functioning vinoholic”, don’t fret because there are plenty of ways to get your hands on some cork! 1) Visit local restaurants and/or liquor stores. Preach the 3 R’s – reduce, reuse, recycle and ask places to put corks aside for you for few days. 2) Embrace the vinoholics and ask them to save corks for you! Bribing them with a bottle of wine never hurt! 3)Buy cork from a craft store or cork distributor. Although this tends to be a more costly (and less fun) option, there are many places to buy corks online. I personally suggest Google….or Siri.

  • Hot glue gun and lots of glue sticks
  • Patience & a personal touch

This wreath I was making for the Brick House Cigar Shop so I used cigar bands to add a personal touch to the wreath. In the past I have used silk/plastic flowers, ribbon, holiday accessories, pictures, and other things from craft stores.

3 Easy Steps:

1. Working on a flat surface, start by gluing the corks onto the wreath. Remember this is your project so place them as you wish. For this project, I randomly placed the corks, labels showing, until the wreath was covered but not busy.

2. After the corks have been glued to the wreath and are set, it’s time to add your own personal touch. In this case I used cigar bands and a framed picture of the Brick House Cigar Shop logo.

3. Open a bottle of wine, let dry, enjoy!
